First Maternity Session – My Wife
My wife is about to have a baby, and she looks awesome! We both combed over hundreds of photos in the days leading up to this, trying to figure out what we wanted to do. I was doing what I could to keep straight my goals as a father and my goals as a photographer for this maternity shoot! We shot the photos in an orange tree grove in Agritopia Farms, in Gilbert, Arizona! That place is awesome, and was not the original place we intended to shoot, but we’re both super glad we did! We originally planned to go up to Sedona, but decided against a long drive that might make her uncomfortable.
This Agritopia maternity shoot was taken about an hour before dusk and turned out so much better than I had hoped. I was nervous because I hadn’t been here before and I know my wife’s patience can only last so long! It ended up being slightly cloudy so we were cool and getting beautiful soft lighting for about a solid hour. It was very quiet over in the orange tree groves which helped my very self-conscious wife get quiet comfortable! We wanted the shoot to be very classy, regal poses with warm soft lighting and that’s exactly what we got! This is definitely one of the best photography spots in Phoenix in my opinion, and will definitely be returning quite often! They have a sweet website, if you want to check it out!
